Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using SlabScan: Sports Card Scanner ("SlabScan", "the App"), published and operated by MapleByte ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using SlabScan, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service & Non-Affiliation Disclaimer

SlabScan is an independent sports card scanner, set checklist tracker, price reference guide, and collection portfolio manager for baseball, basketball, football, soccer, hockey, and other sports cards.

Non-Affiliation: SlabScan is an unofficial, independent reference application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with Topps, Panini, Upper Deck, Fanatics, Bowman, Donruss, PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC, eBay, MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, MLS, FIFA, or any professional sports league, team, or players association. All third-party trademarks, brand names, team names, and player names remain the property of their respective owners and are used strictly for descriptive identification and collector reference purposes.

2. Informational Estimates Only (No Financial or Grading Advice)

All card identifications, parallel or rookie indicators, raw valuations, graded slab estimates, portfolio charts, and currency conversions displayed in SlabScan are provided for informational and collector reference purposes only. They do not constitute a professional appraisal, authentication, official grading opinion, or financial/investment advice.

Sports card values vary significantly based on parallel rarity, serial numbering, autograph authenticity, patch quality, surface condition, centering, and market demand.
Always verify the exact card year, manufacturer, set, card number, parallel, and physical condition or slab certification before buying, selling, trading, or submitting cards for grading.

3. Scan Allowances & Subscriptions

SlabScan offers a free tier with a limited number of complimentary card scans and optional auto-renewable SlabScan Pro subscriptions (such as weekly or annual plans) that unlock higher scan allowances and premium features.

Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Management & Cancellation: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings, or through the Customer Center inside the App.
Separate Products: Subscriptions purchased in SlabScan apply exclusively to SlabScan (`sports_pro`) and do not unlock separate apps.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use SlabScan lawfully and not to:

Attempt to bypass scan quotas, rate limits, or subscription checks.
Scrape, reverse engineer, decompile, or abuse the SlabScan API or catalog database.
Upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content through the camera or photo import features.

5. Data Storage, Exports & Availability

While we strive to keep your sports card collection synced and accessible, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service availability. We encourage collectors to periodically back up their inventory using the built-in CSV and JSON Export tools in Settings.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MapleByte and its suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or financial damages arising out of inaccurate card recognition, parallel misidentification, pricing discrepancies, trading or purchasing decisions, data loss, or service interruptions.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of SlabScan after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
